Here's a Fashion Workshop feature instructing on bleaching denim for some double denim outfits. I absolutely love the bandana from Sportsgirl styled to look like a cap, and also the denim baker boy cap in the cover shot. I'm not sure who the model is unfortunately, if anyone can ID her please leave a comment.
Hi, I just came across your blog as I was looking for an old Dolly ad, and I firstly wanted to say how great it is to see all these images that immediately take me straight back t when I was a teenager and would devour my monthly copy of Dolly. I have been in stitches (quietly as its 1:30am), and I can't wait to show some of the images to my teenagers girls tomorrow - I am expecting a lot of 'eeeww's'.
ReplyDeleteI'm now following you via email and look forward so much to coming posts.
Getting back to the ad I was searching for...if you have all those Dolly's you must surely have it, as it used be in there month after month in the early 80's. I'm pretty sure it was a Le Tan ad, there were about 4-6 people (guys and girls) standing in the surf, some had great tans, others not so great. The girls wore Brian Rochford bikinis/bathers (which I ordered as I ADORED those girls) I spent do much time, in vain, attempting to get a tan just like the blonde girl (was never going to happen). I had been thinking about the ad, as, like me, my daughters are fair skinned, though they wished they weren't, and I wanted to show them I knew how they felt. I searched everywhere on the net, then finally found this blog. I hope you can help, but if not, it's been great reminiscing anyway. Thanks for the memories and the laughs, Jen
Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely comment!! I'm wondering if it might have been a Reef tan ad that you're thinking of. Anyway, I'll post what it could be!
