After a hiatus, here's a new post to signal more regular posts from here on in!  This spread is soo up my alley - I mean knicker bockers, frills, taffeta, sashes and luxe gold accents not to mention the David Bowie cameo.  Adore.

Hot Stuff - Dolly May 1982

I've kinda been obsessed with knicker-bockers lately (even though I don't own a pair - not sure if they're flattering for a short person like myself) in case you've been wondering why all the knicker-bockers in spreads recently.  I noticed that a lot of the threads here are from Ojay which is still going strong unlike many of the other labels of this time.  Love the winter clothes contrasted with summer visuals as I personally haaaate summer.

Here we have the early 80's Dolly pin-up girl Alex Wileman in a range of frilly blouses and knickerbockers.  As I'm not from Sydney, I wonder if this location has changed much since when this was shot... and if Giro's Jewellery is still there!  I must also mention the cover of this issue - it is just so cute and vibrant.  The model sure has a lot of 'e's' in her name.

When I first got this issue I was basically in love with everything in it!  It just oozes 1981 all over!  Annie Jones (aka Jane from Neighbours) looks absolutely gorgeous in her frilly blouse and rouge-y cheeks.  I think I can summarise this fashion spread with the following words:  knicker-bockers, bloomers, teased hair, shorts.  Utterly cute.
