Sublime Soirées - Vogue Australia April 1979
A very New Romantic glamorous adventure features in this aptly titled Sublime Soirées Vogue editorial from 1979. Photographed at the piano bar of the Wentworth Hotel in Sydney, the spread is lush with brocade velvets, silks, satins and opulence in general. I love it!

Hollywood Nights - Dolly Special '81
Quite a cute little Hollywood themed silks and satins feature which according to the credit was shot at Harlow Restaurant in Sydney. I tried to find out if this restaurant was still going, but alas Google did not produce me with any information. It's kinda funny to think of carpet inside a restaurant, but I guess back in '81 - carpets were everywhere! You can even see stains on the carpet which illustrates carpet in a restaurant not being a very good idea at all! The fashions in this spread are a little on the daggy side, but some of the pieces are quite cute, namely both the outfits in last photo, and I was surprised to see that the jumpsuit was from Katies of all places!

Various Images from Vogue Australia August 1982
Here's a bit of a cross-section of the various looks featured in this 1982 issue of Vogue. And I've said it before and I'll say it again - I LOVE 1982! The looks here evoke innocence amplified by sailor collars, puffed sleeves and gorgeous tailoring.

Oranges and Lemons - Dolly July 1986
Graham Shearer has done it again! A gorgeous citrus themed spread with lots of unconventional layering. Clothing highlight for me would be the cropped orange bomber jacket. Unfortunately the model's name isn't listed here, if anyone knows, let me know and I'll credit her.
Bustin' Out - Dolly October 1990
The bustier was definitely an early 90's must-have item of clothing. It reminds me of watching Video Hits in the morning which was full of clips by Toni Pearan and Melissa Tkautz. This spread features two Alison models - Alison Brahe and Alison Jones, a Greek local boy and of course the star of the shots - the donkey! So cute!

Putting On The Glitz - Dolly December 1989
A really vibrant and eclectic spread from this December 1989 issue of Dolly - on the cusp of the 90's. I love the glamour of a spot of sequin in an outfit (and I'm not talking the tacky kind) and my particular favourites are the gold sequin skirt and black sequin top by Morrissey and Edmiston (back when they were a fashion duo before they had gone their separate ways). I read a lot of issues of Dolly during the early 90's and remember Dinosaur Designs jewellery featuring heavily in their pages, although they were faar too expensive for me of course! They're still going and they're kinda still too expensive for me unfortunately as I do love their stuff.

I haven't done a mid 80's post for quite a while so here we have a denim themed spread for 1986 Dolly. Featuring models Amanda, Sibyl and Anna-Louise Gould wearing a whole lotta double denim! Photography by the inimitable Graham Shearer - enjoy!

Kinitics - Vogue Australia April 1979
I think I literally gasped when I saw this spread. With simply superb photography by Monty Coles, it is such an artistic, interesting editorial. I especially love the Jenny Kee for Flamingo Park geometric cocoon jumper, as for my favourite shot... I just can't decide, they are all so magnificent!
