Vegemite Advertisement - Dolly Summer Spectacular 1983

Happy belated Australia Day and to celebrate here is a true blue dinky-di ad for Vegemite (back when Kraft was an Australian owned company).  You can't get more patriotic than this ad!  (Well I can't anyway as I'm the least patriotic person out there, and I do like vegemite so this is the best I can do).

Koala Shoes Advertisement - Dolly November 1987

This ad just screams the 80's!  From the shoes with cutout shapes, to the pastel pink boom-box, to the kid posing with the sunglasses, I mean what's not to like?!

Esprit Advertisement - Dolly January 1987

A vibrant Esprit advertisement (seeing as whenever I post Esprit ads, they are always so popular) featuring Carla McCrie, a 17 year old student.  I love bold colours of knits layered and contrasted with each other.  It is a good good look indeed.

Suntan Vs. Reef Tan Advertisement - Dolly December 1983

By request, here is take 2 of the suntan vs. Reef tan advertisement spread.  I think this is the one that was in the pages of Dolly a lot during the early 80's and not the other one.  And in this one, those with the so called 'suntan' actually look better in my opinion than their oiled up counterparts.  That guy with the goggles looks pretty serious about the big debate though.

Leichner Make-Up Advertisement - Dolly December 1983

A mini post today, but it's quality over quantity with this faaabulous Leichner make-up advertisement.  The model is very familiar, I am sure her name appears somewhere in my pile of Dolly's, and when I find it I'll update this with the info.

Reef Tan Advertisement - Dolly December 1982

This is one of those ads that appeared in almost every Dolly issue during the early 80's.  It's just so funny how it tries to depict the couple without the Reef tan as dorky whereas those with the glistening Reef tans are having the time of their lives!  I like how obvious advertising was back then actually!

Bleach Baby - Dolly June 1987

Here's a Fashion Workshop feature instructing on bleaching denim for some double denim outfits.  I absolutely love the bandana from Sportsgirl styled to look like a cap, and also the denim baker boy cap in the cover shot.  I'm not sure who the model is unfortunately, if anyone can ID her please leave a comment.

Behind Closed Doors - Dolly September 1985

Happy new year Glossy readers!!  And if you're thinking of making some interior decorating changes in 2013, here is some inspiration from Dolly magazine in September 1985.

Personally, my absolute favourite room is the one branded 'Sensible', although, the character description for 'Sensitive' is definitely more me.  I just adore that four poster bed by Numeri, it killlls me!  I must have it!

Christmas - Time To Light Up - Dolly December 1982

Merry Christmas (1982 style of course) !  I think my absolute favourite look is the purple dress with the gorgeous neck ruffle in the fourth image, as a matter of fact I might try and replicate that look for the big day tomorrow!!

Bright Alternatives - Dolly December 1983

I hope you enjoy this spread starring a very young Nicole Kidman as much as I do.  I adore 1983 for fashion and this features the kind of suede ankle boots that I am obsessed with!  I am actually searching for some like Nicole is wearing in the last pic.  If anyone has any to give away in a size 5.5, then you know who to contact!  Photography is by Kenny Middleton.
