White Nights - Dolly November 1987
I am a HUGE fan of everything ballet and ballet influenced, and really adore this spread, as photographed by Andrew Southam. The bubble skirt dress paired with over the knee socks is so quintessentially 1987 - and makes me think of Kylie Minogue on the Got To Be Certain single cover.

Altered Images - Dolly November 1983
What an absolute gem of a spread this is, featuring models dressed as the pop/rock stars of the day. Make-up funnily enough is by the Blitz Kid herself Kim Bowen who actually hung out with Boy George, and probably with many others featured in this too! I really love the make up job for the Bananarama image as they did do the whole orange eyeshadow thing so it is really on point. Also of course my favourite HAS to be the Culture Club girl - she is just so so adorable. All of them are just so cute though, so it's hard to pick favourites. Hope you enjoy this one!

Beat Baby - Dolly November 1986
Love this music-themed fashion spread shot by Graham Shearer and starring gorgeous Dolly model Amanda. My favourite looks here have to be Jazz and Rock - I want that tartan hat in the Jazz shot!!

Koala Shoes Advertisement - Dolly November 1987
This ad just screams the 80's! From the shoes with cutout shapes, to the pastel pink boom-box, to the kid posing with the sunglasses, I mean what's not to like?!

Brian Rochford Australia Advertisement - Dolly November 1987
I have had a bit of a hiatus from regular posting as I've had a bit of a dry spell with the magazines I have, but thanks to a lovely person contacting me, I now have every issue besides about two from 1980 through until 1987 and I have so many issues to pore through!
So here is a little post to tide you over, with the lovely Alison Brahe modelling for Brian Rochford Australia. I have quite a few pics of Alison Brahe and I'm thinking it might be time for another Alison post soon!

The Long And The Short Of It - Dolly November 1981

November 1981 Model Jenny Photographer John Pinfold Make-up Petrina |
A very sweet editorial from this November 1981 issue of Dolly (one of the cutest Dolly covers ever in my opinion). Featuring models in the latest in the fashions of 1981 (namely knickerbockers) looking excited, entertained and aghast at various comic issues.

Fresh & Free - POL Magazine November 1982

November 1982 |
A fabulous colourful beachy fashion spread showcasing Australian designers from this issue of POL Magazine. I'm not sure who the model is, and it's such a delight to see a non stick thin model - unheard of these days without the "plus size" label. I'm quite partial to the pink singlet over the netted yellow top outfit.

Norma Lissek Advertisement - POL Magazine November 1982
A sweet advertisement I picked out of this issue of POL Magazine from 1982. I had a quick google search on the designer Norma Lissek and managed to find out she now buys for a little shop in Geelong which is quite cool that she's still doing what she loves. I wonder what she'd think now of her designs here. Personally I think they're sweet and I especially like the royal blue/white combo (top right in the first picture).

Flamingo Park Advertisement - POL Magazine November 1982
A fabulously colourful + kooky advertisement for Flamingo Park - the fabulous store from inimitable designers Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson. When Jenny Kee did her line for Target a few years ago, I bought the black and white print in the bottom left hand corner in the form of a doona and I adore it to bits!

Jungle Prints On The Prowl - Vogue Australia November 1980
A jungle-riffic spread featuring Sue Smithers as one of the models (with the beauty spot), I'm not sure who the others are unfortunately. My favourite image is the little picture of the Prue Acton Girl Friday dress in the bottom right hand corner of the last image.
