Calypso Capers - Dolly September 1982


A simply stunning editorial with a mixture of drawings and photography showcasing the Calypso themed fashions.  I am a huge fan of frills, and these pictures encompass everything I love.  Soo sooo cute!

    Who was the fashion editor at this time and did they go on to other mags ?

      The fashion editor was Fiona Anderson at this stage, and not sure what ended up happening to her, I'd be very interested to know also.

    Love the combo of illustration and photography. I remember loving Jayson Brundson's illustrations, just beautiful! I loved this Audrey Hepburnesque spread in Dolly he did http://www.sonotaprincess.com.au/journal/2011/10/26/a-frilling-story.html

      Oh thanks so much for that link - those illustrations are so full of vitality, I adore them! I never knew he worked with Dolly in this capacity!

    No worries! Yes he did this before he went on as a designer. I adored his illustrations too so much, remind me of Cecil Beaton's illustrations :)
