A Different Accent - Dolly April 1984

Hope you enjoy this somewhat risqué feature from April 1984 Dolly as modelled by Sarah Nursey and photographed by Greg Barrett.  I am crazy for the look with the chains.. I'd love to try to do that makeup for myself, and the rag look with the checkered fabric is so so stunning!!!!

Mary Shackman - The Great Aussie Fashion 1984-1985

I just had to upload this feature on the very talented Mary Shackman who is such an amazing artist and is still producing stunning pieces to this day.  Enjoy!

It's Surreal Thing - POL Magazine August 1979

Here is a spread that blew me away when I first saw it, and still does.  The majority of the clothes are from Flamingo Park - a label by Jenny Kee and Linda Jackson.  I adore Jenny Kee and made sure I bought some of the products she made for Target not long ago including a really cool black and white doona cover.  I'm not sure who the models are, that is except for Deborah Hutton in the Roller Game shot which is so so cool!

Lights, Cameras ... Acton! - Pol magazine 1980

I bought a stack of magazines just a couple of days ago called 'POL'.  Knowing absolutely nothing about them, I was instantly struck by the covers and then the fashion editorials inside.  I had a bit of a look on wikipedia just now to see if it had any information and found this but I'm not sure it's the same magazine as it says it ceased publication by 1971 and the issues I have are 1979 - 1982.  Hmmm.... the plot thickens.  Anyway, here's a gorgeous Prue Acton spread with photography from Greg Barrett who has done shoots with Sheila magazine and Dolly also that I have shown here (as per the link on his name).  I adore the final photo - it reminds me of a Patrick Nagel portrait.

Sheila Magazine Summer 1980

Summer 1980
Photography Greg Barrett
Model Virginia Wark
Hair John Adams Double Bay
Well here's the first post from my vintage magazine collection, and it's a stunner.  It's the first issue of Sheila Magazine - a high fashion publication which I think unfortunately was rather short-lived. Clearly this issue lives and breathes a sense of excitement and anticipation for the decade to come.

A definite space-age theme permeates throughout, and I adore this little tidbit from Dior outlining The Face of the 80's.
