Top Hats - Dolly January 1986

Hope you enjoy this feature on hats from this '86 issue of Dolly.  With photography by Christian Lemech, and hair and make up by Aaren.  I think the main reason why I chose this spread is that show stopping newspaper hat shot - magnifique!

Set To Work - Dolly September 1983

I hope you enjoy this spread starring a very young Nicole Kidman as much as I do.  I adore 1983 for fashion and this features the kind of suede ankle boots that I am obsessed with!  I am actually searching for some like Nicole is wearing in the last pic.  If anyone has any to give away in a size 5.5, then you know who to contact!  Photography is by Kenny Middleton.

Apologies for the not so good state the cover image is in, but I thought it was worth scanning in, given the fantastic spread this Aztec feature is.  Again, I do love a bold colour, and there is a lot of colour clashing going on and layering of knits (can't wait for Winter to truly kick in so I can throw on all my woolies).

Another fantastic spread featuring Emma Balfour with photography by Grant Matthews.  Emma Balfour definitely suits the French theme and I particularly like the shot by the vintage bar.  The shot where she's wearing the Lindy Lane ra-ra skirt is gorgeous as well - hmmm I've never seen anyone look that good at my supermarket!

A Short Sequins - Dolly November 1985

I don't always like the Fashion Workshop features that Dolly did - but this one is pretty cool.  The styling in this one reminds me of the Take a Walk (... on the wild side) looks in terms of the make-up and slightly rock-edge it takes.  I am adoring the lurex socks in the last image together with the Madonna style crucifix dangling from the ear.  Photography in this is by Andrew Southam and hair and  make up by Aaren - who did the styling in this Scrambled fashion spread.  I like the style of whoever this Aaren person is!  Oh and I must mention the heart shaped sunglasses are from Granny May's.  I am still so upset to this day that the stores are no longer - I adored the stationary and cool stickers from that store *sob*.

A different kind of editorial for Dolly..... it kind of reminds me more of something you'd see in 'The Face' magazine as opposed to a teen Australian magazine.  I am very curious as to who this 'Aaren' is who styled both the cover and this shoot, and alas I could not find any information on him/her at all.  Not too sure whether I would personally wear a jumper as pants, but I can see where they were going with it and for the shoot it looks great.  I adore the hair and make-up particularly in this - the yellow eyeshadow/pink eyeliner combo really works.
